Our History

The first team, under the name Lady Knights, was started in 1991 with 10-14 participants.  Lady Knights was registered with Travis County in May of 1993.  A few years later, Austin Lady Warriors was created. In 2004, Austin Lady Knights and Austin Lady Warriors came together to form Austin Elite in an effort to bring the brightest and most talented kids together for select basketball competition. Through the tireless efforts of many incredible volunteers, the Elite, Warriors and Knights have had over 160+ graduates enroll in universities and colleges on athletic and academic scholarships. Austin Elite has won trophies at the prestigious Nike Boo Williams Invitational, Nike End of the Oregon Trail, River City Classic, AAU Nations and Basketball on the Bayou.

Our Goals

We are a community based organization with the goal of working with student-athletes and at risk youth to prevent teen pregnancy, illiteracy, homelessness and high school dropout. Our underlining goal is to provide aspiring young males and females the opportunity to obtain a college scholarship through athletic exposure and academic enrichment.  The primary objectives are:

1) To provide current information on college entrance exam strategies and guidelines for academic scholarships.

2)   To foster an environment for each player to develop and maximize their basketball knowledge, individual skills, and team work attitude.

3)  To provide a forum for qualified players to display their abilities to college scouts in order to compete for student-athletic scholarships.
